Skilled Workers & Professionals

The Skilled worker Immigration Program was designed to attract educated and skilled professionals to Canada. Under this program, applicants are assessed on several factors:

As of July 1, 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). This temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying under the PhD stream. Proposed FSWP changes are expected to come into force in May2013.

Please note that there will most likely be a list of eligible occupations and an annual cap.

"Arranged Employment" is an indeterminate job offer from a Canadian employer that has been validated by HRSDC. A letter of offer of employment will not suffice to score the 10 points under this criterion. Read more [+]
