The IRP Regulations specify that Skilled Worker
applicants must have sufficient funds to support themselves during
the period of their initial establishment. While such immigrants
are being selected on the basis of their ability to perform well
economically over the long term it is anticipated that, during the
inevitable period of adjustment to a new country, some of them will
have initial difficulties in finding a job in Canada.
The amount of money that you need to have to support your family
is determined by the size of your family. You do not
have to show that you have these funds if you have arranged
employment in Canada.
